Now, let me tell you a little bit about myself:
My name is Eric, I’m Brazilian, and I migrated to Australia a few years ago. I am also a proud member of the LGBTIQA+ community.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work and am an accredited social worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), with seven years of experience in the Mental Health, Disability, and Community Services sectors in Australia.
My professional journey includes working in both public and private sectors, supporting young people, adults, and families through community mental health services (clinical outpatient settings), early intervention programs, alcohol and other drug services, and within the NDIS sector. I have experience assisting clients with challenges such as depression, stress, anxiety, addiction problems, LGBTIQA+ minority stress, relationship difficulties, and problems with motivation, self-esteem, and confidence.
My practice is grounded in client-centred approach, the use of the recovery model lens, and trauma-informed care. I am passionate about working collaboratively with clients to explore how past experiences shape current behaviours. I hope to create a space to help clients to build resilience and strengths, enhance their sense of self-efficacy, and achieve overall well-being by learning how to meet their needs through behavioural, contextual and lifestyle changes.
