More about Sarah

I am a qualified & registered counsellor with the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I have a wide range of experience prior to becoming a counsellor having previously worked in social care settings (learning disabilities, community care & older adults), always focused on empowerment and independent choice. I have worked in mental health exclusively since 2018 in both a private trauma clinic, and within the NHS since 2019.

I work using a Trauma-informed, Person-Centred counselling approach which means I believe that each and every person is innately deserving of respect and are the experts in themselves. I believe that connection is the most important thing in therapy and so I work hard to get to know you and the true impact of your experiences - not who the world tells us we 'should' be or feel.

Your feelings and experiences are the most important thing and I will work alongside you to explore your difficulties and empower you to discover your own solutions - at your own pace.

I have experience in helping clients with depression & anxiety; self-esteem & identity; stress & burn out; grief & loss; trauma, and life transitions. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
