It is with great pride and humility that I come to you prepared to listen and talk so together we can work for you TO BE YOUR BEST SELF AND WHOM YOU ARE CREATED TO BE!

My name is Chinwe Matilda Nzerue-Obi and I am Licensed as a Professional Counselor by the Texas Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors. I got my Masters Degree from University of Houston Victoria, Texas. Prior to this, I was an Attorney from Nigeria: having graduated from The Counsel of Legal Education, Victoria Island Lagos and with a Law degree from University of Jos. I am also a Certified Christian Counselor for the benefit of clients who draw strength from their faith.

For Interventions, my theoretical approach is Solution Focused Brief Therapy because I believe that when people “need help, help can not wait”. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help keep the mind and body whole. I have been privileged to help near school drop outs get back into school, stay in school, and graduate; helped couples at the brink of divorce save their marriage; worked with and helped people of all ages overcome – Anger, Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Substance use/abuse, Parenting and Relationship issues among others. I hold a Multicultural Counseling Certification and a Real Estate License too; all these have enhanced my ability to work across ages, cultures and countries. No matter what the issue is, you too can be helped.

I believe that with determination and the will for a better life we will help you BE THE BEST YOU ARE CREATED TO BE and enjoy your best life!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

She did really listen. I personally hold a stronger view that the relationship between an individual with their therapist has a huge impact on their counseling experience. She is good and I really appreciate the way she provides me with a different perspective to rethink my situations in terms of faith and life crisis. It is uneasy for me to tear down the trust wall to begin counseling, nevertheless, I am glad I made it. I like Chinwe and she is definitely professional and helpful. Thank you Chinwe =)

Chinwe is wise enough to help me see good in sometimes tense situations I have to prove myself in. Sometimes she suggests I should be open to the influence of others in ways that I haven’t prepared for.

Reviewed September 2021

Chinwe always does a phenomenal job of helping me to remain rational and stable as I continue my journey of healing from many traumas. She’s such a patient listener, and as a fellow Christian, I have been so blessed by her strength in faith and her deep knowledge of Scripture, which she shares faithfully with me after each session for reference. So many times when I face a difficulty, I not only ask myself “what would Jesus do?”, but also “what would Chinwe say?” She gives me courage to stay faithful in my beliefs, and never makes me feel like even my small issues are too small. If you need someone who is nurturing but gives good tough love, Chinwe is your counselor.

Chinwe is awesome, very understanding and supportive. I would definitely carry on talking to her if I could afford. Might consider joining Betterhelp in future. I am really happy with the speed of response, 24-48 hours instead of 3-4 weeks compared with other Therapists. Definitely recommend to anyone who's struggling and needs a bit of guidance and understanding.
