I am licensed in California with 3 years of professional work experience. My name is Marissa Ruiz and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Some of my other titles include mother, wife, ex-wife sister, daughter, niece, grandmother and friend. Sharing these titles are important to me because they represent current relationships and past relationships. My past relationships include grief, trauma and growth.
Many of us our exposed or dealing with grief and loss but unable to talk about it. Sometimes we are in relationships that need help with communication or help with regulating our emotions. I had big losses of immediate members of my family in 2015-2016. I had a past toxic relationship. I survived all these obstacles in my life with the help of a therapist.
I believe in therapy and have worked with couples to overcome obstacles in communication and improve regulating their emotions. I have worked with clients who have faced loss and are grieving. In addition, clients who are dealing with depression. I believe I can work with you and support you in your difficult times and make a treatment suitable to your goals. Lastly most of my clients I have worked with includes impulsivity and anxiety.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
