Abi is just wonderful, she's an expert in her field, perceptive and a really good listener. Abi has pushed me & challenge my behaviour & beliefs at the right time. Abi is great at matching your individual style and managing the sessions effectively. I'm 52 and have managed anxiety & depression my whole adult life, after trauma in childhood. Abi has helped me understand more than any other doctor or therapist that ive ever had, why I feel like this and how to better manage. She helps make you feel safe and valued and her sessions are enjoyable.

Abi and I have been working together for a short period of time but she has been incredible. Almost immediately Abi has made me feel understood, comfortable and safe. I can be vulnerable with her and I value her expertise and support. Abi has a beautiful way of summarising and articulating my feelings back to me and asking the right questions to further explore my emotions. I feel seen and heard, and I am grateful of Abi's guidance and I look forward to continuing to work with her.

More about Abigail

  • 13 years' experience

I have 13 years of experience as a therapist helping clients with a range of experiences from stress and anxiety to family conflicts, anger management, trauma, and abuse.

Some clients are fearful of therapy because even the thought of talking about difficult issues can feel upsetting but I will never expect you to talk about anything you are not ready to share.

Whilst I believe that our experiences, particularly in childhood, lay the foundations for the way we live our lives and you are invited to share anything without fear of judgement, I find that the use of both metaphor and how you sense your emotions in your body allows the work we do together to feel transformative but also safely held. My work is also informed by the IFS model and ‘parts’ work.

Many of my clients have experienced severe or enduring trauma which is often replayed in their relationships and impacts their self-worth, leading to anxiety, depression and distress. Many have complex coping strategies which may now become hard to manage so all sessions are led by client needs, and move at the speed of trust.

Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
