** Effective as of July 28th, I am ONLY offering live chatting/messaging for sessions. No video or phone appointments will be scheduled after September 8th of 2024 (including for previous clients assigned to me).

Hi, my name is Amber and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor for Florida and Maryland who obtained a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. I am focused on improving the overall well-being and mental health of my clients through evidence-based practices. I have hands-on experience with individual, couples, family, and group therapy for numerous diagnoses including mental health and substance use disorders. I try my best to stay on top of demands in fast-paced environments by keeping up-to-date with training on topics such as suicide prevention and crisis management as well as other crucial therapeutic interventions. I am reliable and ready to take on challenges using problem-solving and task-prioritization skills to help clients become better versions of themselves. A therapeutic safe space is what is strived for in every therapy session. I have previous experience working from ages 5 to 95, but do best with children, teenagers, and young adult needs. My niche includes emotional management, stress management, child-centered play therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, neurodivergence, and LGBTQIA+ affirming care. If it sounds like we will be a good fit, please reach out as I would love to help you on your therapeutic journey!

** Please contact me directly to schedule an appointment. I have specific times that work best for live chatting (usually between the hours of 8 am to 9 pm). I accept first come first serve; therefore my availability week to week may vary. Communicating directly with me for scheduling is ideal so that I can also accommodate as much as possible to your availability. Thanks! -Amber

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
