Hi, Andrew here! Glad to meet you... :)
I am an accredited social worker and qualified mental health counsellor. I have over 25 years' experience working in the human services field in Australia with more than 5 years' experience as a qualified social worker. I've worked in a variety of settings in the field including mental health, pastoral work, disability (and the NDIS), and child, youth and family work.
I specialise in supporting clients' addressing stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, anxiety and depression, motivation and confidence, and self-esteem and purpose. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths and resources that will assist in overcoming your challenges. If you're feeling stuck, misunderstood, confused, anxious or broken, let's work together to get you back on the path towards your accepted and authentic self again.
My framework hinges on placing the client in the middle of the story, exploring strengths and supports, deep listening, solution finding and setting and achieving goals. I have extensive experience in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Committment Therapy, person-centred counselling, and systems therapy approaches. My success in supporting people comes from my deep committment to the person's purpose, value, self-awareness and growth. My core belief, is "you are worth it"!
As a former pastor with over a decade of experience in local Church ministry my specialty and passion is supporting people exploring and navigating faith. I support many people in this unique way as I bring an understanding of and experience in the Christian belief system combined with qualifications and experience in mental health and wellbeing.
I can support you:
+Maybe you're wresting with faith and don't know where to turn
+You've experienced loss or trauma and want spiritual guidance and support combined with clinical mental health interventions
+You've lost faith in the Church and have been hurt or you're feeling broken
+You'd like prayer, emotional and pastoral support with Biblical principles to guide you
+You're feeling anxious and or down and need support to steer you towards a faith-based response
Taking the first step to engage in therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started! I hope we can start working together soon. Let the journey begin.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
