Although I've only had 2 sessions I definitely feel my therapist has started to understand me already. They are compassionate and respectful and help to facilitate understanding of myself. I'm impressed with the therapy I have received so far.

Jay is absolutely amazing! Really helps me understand myself and taps into my emotions. On our first session I uncovered a massive wound I didn’t know I was holding on to. Really gave me the recognition and validation that I needed

More about Jay

I have been working as a person-centred counsellor since 2017. I hold an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice from the University of Nottingham. I am an accredited member of the NCPS.

I have extensive experience working with clients who are neurodivergent (inc. autism, ADHD and BPD) and survivors of sexual abuse. I also support those struggling with depression, anxiety, disordered eating and low self-esteem.

To me, counselling is a safe space where you can bring all of yourself without fear of judgement, so you can come to understand yourself more deeply through the open and exploratory work we do together. My job is not to advise or guide, but to give you the confidence to choose your own direction and to follow it.

Accessibility is at the core of all I do, and I offer a mixed medium approach to sessions, with you choosing between video, voice or live chat each week depending on what feels most manageable at the time.

I have previously worked for various organisations, including RoSA (a charity working with survivors of rape and sexual abuse), the Human Flourishing Project, and Trentside Medical Group. Before becoming a counsellor, I gained experience as a youth worker and a care assistant. Since 2023, I have run my own business, offering counselling both in private practice and through BetterHelp.

I have attended various professional development courses, covering topics including self-harm, domestic violence, BDSM, dissociation, grief and working with trans clients. I am also a trainer myself, having delivered seminars at the PCA GSRD Conference, the BACP Research Conference and at the University of Nottingham.

I abide by the NCPS ethical framework. I hold full Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance. All notes are stored digitally and securely, in accordance with GDPR.

Online counseling allows you to receive care from a mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
