Rachel makes me feel very supported and understood

Reviewed September 2024

Rachel is absolutely amazing! She frequently checks in with me and provides me worksheets and exercises to help me with my goals and things I want to work on in myself. She’s incredibly compassionate and knowledgeable on different resources I may need. I’m so happy to have found her and blessed to have her as my therapist. I couldn’t recommend her enough!

More about Rachel

  • 5 years' experience
  • Female
  • LCSW

Hi there! My name is Rachel (she/her) and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Illinois with over 5 years of direct clinical work. I have worked in a variety of settings, including community based programs, residential programs, hospitals, emergency shelters, crisis mental health and private practice. I graduated with my undergraduate and graduate degree in social work from Aurora University in 2018 and 2019, respectively. I worked as a Licensed Social Worker from 2020-2023 and in April 2023 I completed the requirements for full licensure per the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.

I believe that everyone deserves to have access to judgement free support. A successful therapeutic process always starts with a positive connection between therapist and client. My sessions include warmth, empathy and humor (maybe) to provide a safe and comfortable space for all clients.

I know how overwhelming starting therapy can be, and I congratulate you on taking this step. Whether this is your first experience with therapy, or you’re a pro, I am looking forward to supporting you on your journey to health and wellness!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
