Hello there - I am Jo Purvis (MBACP; MNCPS (Acc.). I am a qualified integrative counsellor who is a Registered Member of the BACP and an Accredited Registrant with NCPS in the UK.

Counselling can offer a space where you can be heard, access support and begin to change. To learn skills and endure difficulties with self-compassion and resilience, and work through the issues that make you feel "stuck" or affect you negatively.

I offer a non-judgemental, supportive, and confidential space in which to express your thoughts, feelings and experiences at a pace that is comfortable for you. My aim is to facilitate discovery; uncover ways to withstand and embrace life with comfort and curiosity, to honour your needs, learn how to soothe yourself and engage with positive, sustainable growth.

Your individuality, values and goals will always help guide how we work together to support your journey towards a more positive, grounded, authentic and resilient life.

As an integrative counsellor I draw upon the Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) modalities whilst using a trauma-informed approach. This allows me to adapt how we work together to best suit your needs and the issues you are experiencing whilst working within the BACP’s Ethical Framework and required professional competency level.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
