Leonie graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary with a masters in biblical counseling; equipping Leonie with a distinct ability to combine tried and tested psychological tools with sound biblical principles and teaching.
As well as providing individual counseling, Leonie also works within a psychiatric hospital, equipping her with the knowledge, background and expertise to work with more acute symptoms and cases such as suicidal ideation, bipolar episodes and psychosis.
Leonie specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which is based on the notion that the battle with depression and related disorders ultimately is won in the mind first, concurrent with the biblical understanding that one is transformed by the renewing of the mind. CBT has been shown to be effective with most symptoms, conditions and diagnoses.
