More about Jennifer

Hello, my name is Jenny and I am a licensed clinical social worker in North Carolina providing therapy through Better Help. I am so glad you have decided to explore therapy. I completed a BA in Psychology from NCCU and earned my Master of Social Work at NC State. For over a decade, I have partnered with countless individuals in my work at local hospitals and outpatient to help them process their feelings and move forward with a healthier mindset. My overall message has always been, ' Go where you're celebrated, not where you're tolerated!'

I believe in actively listening to understand the stressors, thoughts, feelings, and values of my clients and that the first step toward healing is self awareness. When we're confronted with problems it is helpful to have reflection from someone who is compassionate, has personal and professional experience, is educated and unbiased. But ultimately, I believe we're healthiest when we can become confident in knowing ourselves with and without affirmation from others. I employ a variety of strategies to help you re-frame the challenges of your life and navigate any trauma or loss. I am adept at solution-focused brief therapy. My foundation is built on cognitive and dialectical behavior therapy approaches. In essence, if you change the way you think, you can change the way you behave.

I am grateful to provide therapy and would be honored to assist you .

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

I couldn’t be more pleased with the blessing of finding Jennifer Metzger on this app. She has been a god send. She is flexible with scheduling. She listens and reflects back what you need to hear. She is professional and knowledgeable. She helps you self identify and find solutions through exercises. She remembers every little detail and makes you feel special. I can say with 100% certainty you are in good hands with Jenny. I am a 48 year old professional mother who was seeking therapy for past trauma, grief, parenting, spousal terminal illness and professional job counseling. It’s a lot. Jenny has helped me address and find peace with each struggle and even helped me uncover additional thoughts and challenges and overcome them. Thank you Jenny!!!
