I am a UK based Child, Young People and Adults counsellor working with people from a very diverse range of backgrounds from 11 years of age to 70 plus. I have over five years of experience equally split between working with adults and young people and between in person and online/telephone work. I am experienced in short term counselling provision with limited sessions as well as longer term open-ended work. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I love the work that I do and feel privileged to meet such wonderful people in the course of it.

My style is warm and encouraging and if you choose to work with me you will enter a judgement free space in which you can safely explore the difficulties you are experiencing in a collaborative manner. My approach is led by your needs which, if a bit unclear, we can explore what they are together. My work is humanistic first and foremost as I believe the therapeutic relationship is key and I integrate compassionate inquiry, cognitive behavioural and resilience building approaches as needed. I have experience of working with people experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, bereavement and loss of various kinds including direction; relationship issues with partners, with friends, with children, with parents, with people at work and with job and career issues generally, including impostor syndrome. I have experience working with people suffering with OCD and with PTSD and other forms of trauma.

It can feel daunting taking the first steps towards moving forward with your life and gaining freedom from your difficulties. Well done for making it this far. If you would like to work with me it will be an honour and I look forward to meeting you.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
