More about John

  • 20 years' experience
  • Male
  • Psychologist

I am a licensed psychologist in Illinois with over 20 years of experience. My clinical focus is working with clients who report a wide range of concerns related to depression and anxiety; trauma and grief; relationship conflicts and concerns; alcohol and drug misuse; anger management; adult ADHD challenges; and job and career stress.

Both my therapy and coaching styles are person-centered, values-based, and solution-focused. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and unconditional positive regard. My multimodal approach to therapy combines focused acceptance and commitment (FACT), cognitive-behavioral, humanistic-existential, harm reduction, and self-help facilitation therapies. I tailor all therapy sessions and treatment plans to meet clients' unique and specific needs.

With solution-focused therapy, it takes openness, awareness, and committed action to increase psychological flexibility and to achieve a more fulfilling life. I look forward to working with you to support and facilitate such change efforts.

Respectfully, John Jones, Ph.D.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
