Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

As a first-timer to therapy I was really not sure if I'd find someone I could relate to and dreaded the thought of having to go through multiple therapists to find the right one. It took a couple sessions to find my footing with Jamie-Jean but now our rapport is natural. She makes it easy to feel like I'm talking with a friend, but one who's qualified to give advice. I appreciate her patience, and as someone who's more accustomed to listening to others, she lets me air my thoughts and find expression for what I'm feeling. It's frankly a relief to unburden to someone who can help me find solutions and also de-stress. Didn't know how much I needed this!
