Working with Lucy has been a wonderful experience. From the very beginning, she created a warm, safe, and non-judgmental environment that allowed me to open up in ways I never thought I could. Lucy has a talent for encouraging me to explore topics that I would've otherwise avoided, and draws out insights I didn’t even know I was holding back. Through our sessions, I’ve learned to trust my own instincts and appreciate my thoughts and feelings. Lucy has helped massively with identifying and differentiating between rational and irrational thoughts, which has been a huge step in managing and understanding my inner dialogue. Together, we break down my thoughts and emotions, uncovering why they arise and how to process them in a healthy, constructive way. I genuinely feel like a transformed person because of Lucy’s guidance. My outlook on life has shifted from one of hesitation and self-doubt to a perspective filled with positivity and self-assurance. Working with her has been an incredibly empowering experience, and I’m so grateful for the impact she’s had on my life.

I came to BetterHelp a year ago looking for a place to understand why I had trouble establishing relationships with people. Lucy made me realize what I was really looking for was a relationship with myself. She gave me space to unwind, to look into myself and discover the person I really am, rather than the person I wanted others to see in me. I cannot underestimate the impact the space she created for me has had in my life. I'm not a person who opens up easily, but with Lucy I can do so without fear of judgement, unsolicited advice or bad council. We navigated through my past and present, and she helped me navigate past my pre-conditioned patterns and innermost fears. I like who I am as a person now, and I am learning to trust my instincts more and more everyday. If you are also looking for a safe space where you can get in touch with the real you, I would whole-heartedly recommend Lucy Ball as the person to guide you in your journey.

When we’re feeling stuck or in pain, it can feel impossible to know how to move forward. We may feel overwhelmed by life’s challenges, or have a constant anxiety which plagues us, even if everything seems okay on the surface. Whatever your reason for being here, I will meet you where you’re at. My wish is for you to feel heard, seen, valued and understood, so that together, we can create a safe collaborative space for you to explore what is going on for you.
As an integrative psychotherapist specialising in re-integrating emotional trauma, I have extensive experience of helping clients to process and release the emotional burdens which are holding them back. My approach is informed by relational, transpersonal and somatic modalities, meaning I work with the whole of you, mind, body, and spirit.
My intention is to get to the root of your challenges through cognitive understanding (to bring what is unconsciously running your life into your awareness), inner parts work (getting to know the different parts of you which are splitting you apart within, so you can re-integrate them and come back to wholeness) and processing emotional trauma through the body, helping you to somatically release the pain which is keeping you stuck. I believe in client autonomy, that you already have everything you need within, and that my job is to support you whilst you unravel the emotional build-up which is keeping you apart from your embodied wisdom.
My approach is informed by Clarkson’s 5 relationship model, Carl Jung’s individuation process, “parts” therapy/internal family systems, Bowlby’s attachment theory, spiritual teachings such as those from John Kabatt-Zinn and Eckhart Tolle, Peter Levine’s somatic theory, and mindfulness practices such as yoga and vipassana meditation.
COMMON PRESENTING ISSUES
Relational integrative therapy can help with presenting issues such as anxiety, depression/melancholia, low self-esteem, hopelessness, lack of purpose/direction, identity crises, feeling lost, relationship struggles, existential/spiritual crises, severe stress/burnout, addictions, trauma and narcissistic abuse, fears and phobias, anger management, grief and loss, loneliness/isolation, big life transitions, attachment issues/co-dependency, childhood emotional neglect, to name a few. Relational therapy is often long-term work, however it can be helpful for short term issues too.
If you are dealing with something which is not on this list and would like to contact me to see if my approach may be helpful to you, please get in touch.
ABOUT ME
Whilst previously working in the fashion industry, I found myself plagued by a sense of meaninglessness about life. I was severely anxious with low self-esteem; I was lost, lonely, in chronic emotional pain, and felt my life lacked direction and purpose. Although this was my reality at the time, I had a gnawing sense that there must be more, there must be a way out of this. I found myself spending my spare time learning about my inner world - my past, my thought patterns, my emotions, my beliefs. I educated myself on the mechanisms of the mind, emotional processing, and how to heal trauma. With the help of therapy, I came face-to-face with my grief and learnt to feel safe in my body again. As I started to shed the layers of past trauma and pain that had been colouring my world grey, I discovered first-hand that real, life-altering change is possible.
Over time, I felt drawn to helping others who have also found themselves lost in the dark, looking for answers. This led me to leave the fashion industry to train as a psychotherapist, which I am deeply passionate about - it is an honour and a privilege to walk alongside others on their journeys. I also remain committed to my own personal and professional development, regularly engaging in further education, creative endeavours, nurturing practices, and relationships that enrich me.
I have previously worked with Headstrong Counselling, which offers low-cost long term therapy, as well as with students at the University of Greenwich counselling service.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

I feel so blessed to have been matched with Lucy. I have been through a couple of therapists before, but my growth since working with her is not something I expected to happen so quickly. I still have a long way to go, but my weekly sessions with Lucy are the anchor of my week. She is empathetic, non judgmental and provides me with extremely valuable insights and tools. Couldn’t recommend her more.
She has been an amazing help to me in breaking down where my struggles come from
Lucy is a wonderful therapist. She has provided me with a space where I can explore my own personality and emotional state without fear of judgement or ridicule. She has a way of directing you on your own path towards self-discovery, and I am extremely grateful to her for her kind manner, patience and professionalism.
Lucy has helped me massively over the past few months in dealing with anxiety over relationships and the feeling of being left behind. I’ve had a few therapists in the past but no one has had an obvious positive impact the way Lucy has. Lucy is really empathetic and I feel very safe talking to her. Not only that, but she has given me so many tools/ insights which have helped me get to a better place. I really recommend her!
