Carol is wonderful. I am terrible at writing back to people and tend to recede into solitude quite often. Carol, however, never gives up on me, and always reaches out. Feel like she really cares.

Carol is an incredible professional therapist. I've known her know for over a year and half and she helped me focusing on me. Making sense out of messy feelings. Her way of cutting through the fog with kind and yet effective words is unique. I could not imagine the past year without her precious words.

More about Carol

  • 27 years' experience
  • Female
  • LMHC

I have been a practicing therapist since 1994 and have specializations in: Pastoral Counseling; Women's issues including Aging, Body Image, Rape, Domestic Violence and Incest; Depression, Loss, Grief and Anxiety; Couples Counseling; Serious Mental Illness issues with individuals or families concerning Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, and other illnesses that often require long-term treatment and medications.

I have a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University, FL, and a Master's degree in Divinity from Duke University , NC. I believe that trust and compassion are key elements to successful therapy, as is regular engagement in therapy sessions, and commitment from both the therapist and the client. I often teach my clients techniques in breathing, using imagery, and journaling to use on their own when they have to confront issues that we work on in therapy. My style of counseling involves practices based in many psychological theories, and is tailored to the individual with whom I am working.

Our sessions consist of conversations that may involve problem solving, teaching, guiding, looking more closely at issues that have been causing trouble for a long time, things that may never have been spoken of before, uncomfortable topics - whatever a client comes with is where we start, and together we will go from there. I am not here to judge, or come to conclusions about what you do or who you are. I am here to help you through whatever it is that causes you to want to talk to a professional therapist, and I will work with you as long as you need to heal and/or reach your goal(s).

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Carol has been a pleasure. A very genuine and thoughtful therapist. I wanted to give online therapy a real chance to see how effective it was. It's been a few months and I'm already noticing a big difference in my day to day life. She listens and offers great perspective on issues that I find hard to deal with.

Carol Waldenburg has been extremely helpful to me during a severe depression I've been experiencing. Not only is she understanding and supportive, she is quite good at really listening to what I have to say and making sense of my confusion. Although comforting and supportive, she also calls a spade a spade and is direct and sees through my BS and calls me on it. I need that too. She is very easy to talk to, she responds quickly and I have a very warm and good feeling towards here. I think she knows her stuff and really cares about what she does and her patients. I highly recommend working with her.

I started with BetterHelp and was assigned to Carol and immediately felt a great connection. I had worked with counselors in person and via Skype and they work ok, but the attention Carol provided with instant feedback seemed to be exactly what I needed versus the make an appointment and wait scenario. She was very insightful and pointed me in the right direction immediately. I feel like Carol knows what she's doing and feel very confident with her ability to help me when I need it most! Great service!

Reviewed May 2015

Carol Waldenburg has been great for me. She's helping me focus on what's important, and filter out the extraneous "noise." As I've worked with her, I've become much more aware of the my own ability to get myself through this rough patch. I appreciate that she seems able to notice what's important when I'm wound up and all over the place. I came here for help dealing with a life change, which, while good, has been stressful, and as a result, I feel more able to roll with the changes, take care of myself, and have fun.
