More about Denise

Hello - thank you for visiting my site.

I hold a Master of Arts degree in Community Counseling from Regis University, in Denver, CO. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC).   I have specialized and advanced training in EMDR, DBT, and CBT. I believe in a fluid and flexible approach to counseling; incorporating a broad spectrum of methodologies, which allows for a collaborative and individualized therapeutic experience. I also have a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado, Denver.

I have 10+ years experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, depression, addictions, trauma, and emotional, sexual, and/or physical abuse. I have experience with eating disorders and personality disorders. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment.

I approach each client from an integrated perspective and utilize mindfulness-based practices, which support emotional growth, wholeness. and optimal wellness.

Using EMDR, DBT, and CBT, I have helped clients experiencing mood disturbances and affect dysregulation. My approach to issues related to substance use embraces a movement away from the narrow confines of ‘recovery’ to an expansive vision of ongoing self-discovery.

With many clients I use mindfulness practices including breath-work to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, creative visualization, meditation, journaling, and internal resourcing. Providing skills and tools to navigate life’s challenges is an important piece of the therapeutic puzzle.

Therapy is a journey we take together. The next step is to sign up and get started. I look forward to working with you.
