Mark is great! He takes the sessions at my pace and he always seems to articulate very well what I am unable to. He’s always spot on with his assessment of who I am and how I’m handling a particular issue.

More about Mark

  • 5 years' experience

  • BACP

My name is Mark and I live near Liverpool, UK. I am a BACP registered counsellor of over 5 years experience. My training is Integrated counselling, which means I can use Person Centred, Psychodynamic, and CBT approaches together to suit individual presenting issues. Everything I do is based on the Person Centred approach of Carl Rogers - so I value empathy, non-judgement and unconditional positive regard with all clients. I am also very interested in the work of Carl Jung and the influence of the unconscious for positive change in our lives. In my experience having listened carefully to hundreds of clients, I have noticed that a great many people experience anxiety because they are not being the person they need to be, rather, they are being who they are for other people - feeling they must live up to the expectations and judgements of others. My approach is to help clients examine this if it should be significant, and listen to the real person. This can be liberating and the beginning of a journey of positive change. I look forward to beginning this journey with you.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
