I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado with 36 years of professional work with individuals, couples, teens and families both online and in my private practice. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, coping with addictions, trauma and abuse, & intimacy related issues. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you.

My therapy approach draws from Gestalt, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). A top priority for me is to meet you where you are at and calibrate treatment and my approach to what will work best for us as we work together to meet your goals.

I generally check my emails 1-2 times daily Monday-Friday and will respond as quickly as I can. I may be in a session with another client please be patient as I will respond. I am not in my office on weekends as I enjoy participating in self care activities and connecting with friends and family.

Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Felt connected, understood and safe in my very first session with Kim. It’s often hard to open up and be vulnerable with someone you’ve never met, but Kim puts you at ease from the get-go and I’m looking forward to working with her!
