More about Karen

  • 4 years' experience

I am a counsellor and psychotherapist living in the UK with 3 years of professional work experience. I have experience helping clients with stress and anxiety, coping with addictions, relationship issues, & trauma and abuse. People struggling with loss and those wanting to find a sense of purpose. The outcome being that you will gain a better more fulfilling life on your own terms. I strongly believe that no one should be suffering with issues they can’t resolve alone. Working with adults to get stability and balance back in their life. I support through improving self - awareness and clients emotional regulation using talk therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy and EMDR (a powerful modality for clients dealing with historical trauma ).

Using a client centred approach together we will explore the journey that brought you to therapy. Working besides you to look at beliefs which may not be serving you so together we can delve into alternate ways in dealing with situations in life. My therapy style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. Knowing that the first steps into therapy are the hardest, together we will work to support and empower you moving forward with your life.

I look forward to working with you!

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Working with Karen has been very enlightening and empowering. She takes me to levels beyonds my preconceptions that I didn't realise was there and is skilled in working with my ADHD, not 'managing' or tolerating it, I can fully remove my mask in sessions without concern of judgement.
