Ashley is a great listener who values what I say and is able to guide me to clarity regarding issues I am experiencing. She provides a balance between real life examples and academic/philosophic understanding.

I enjoy my talks with Ashley, she listens very well and always has a suggestion on how to approach the issues that arise in my life. Even though I have never done therapy and have reservations on its effectiveness she has given me a place to express myself and someone I can confide in to get an unbiased opinion on how to proceed with certain situations.

More about Ashley

  • 4 years' experience

I am licensed in Texas with 4 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, motivation, self esteem, and confidence, & coping with life changes. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.

Life brings us many challenges, and often times we feel depressed, angry, bitter, confused or even anxious. The beauty of life is that it gives an opportunity to review, reflect and reform our own stories so we can keep pushing through our adversities. No matter what age, race, creed or status, healing comes from the support of someone being able to help you take the very first step to recovery. When we are able to take very first step towards our healing, we find peace, joy, and forgiveness again.

As a passionate counselor, I believe that clients have the ability to choose how to resolve their own problems and can make their own decisions with my assistance as a facilitator. The use of my techniques enable you to use the resilient power you have to create the change you desire.

I believe that a client’s self-awareness, thought processes, strengths and talents, and ability to make positive life choices are the keys to developing self-direction and independence. I use a collaborative approach to counseling that integrates techniques and methods from the following counseling theories: Solution-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I also provide Christian-Based counseling with these techniques and methods based on client's request. All of these techniques will provide methods to solve problems utilizing the client’s own strengths to meet their needs. Occasionally other approaches will be used such as role-playing and guided imagery when deemed appropriate.

As apart of my counseling journey, I am also a school counselor. I have been in education for the past 15 years and have learned to understand, empower, and help support tools and strategies for our youth. Recently recognized as a 2022 American School Counselor of the Year Finalist, apart of my work in this role is to help our teens grow socially, academically, and behaviorally at home, at school, and with peers.

Our life is a story. Each day, each moment in time, adds to the pages of our story. The beauty of life is that it gives us the ability to rewrite our own stories no matter our age, race, background, or status. Though we can’t change the past, I would love to help you as your therapist rediscover your resilience, passion, and mostly importantly self love to get through the next chapter in your life.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
