Greetings! While I am a counselor with over 30 years in the field, the most important part of the relationship with my clients is the human-to-human connection between us. I am a husband, a father, and a fellow traveler through life, and I have had my own struggles and worked my way through them--sometimes utilizing other counselors. I see myself as a compassionate companion who will draw on my own experience, personally and professionally, to help you face and overcome whatever challenge is causing you to reach out for help at this time. I believe that life is meant to be embraced and enjoyed, and I can help you get back to that place.

I have extensive experience and training as a licensed clinical social worker, and use an eclectic approach with my clients, meaning that I tailor my approach to each person's individual needs. I draw upon counseling techniques that have been proven by research to be effective with most people, and I focus particularly on the importance of self-care. We are often our own worst critics, and I help people draw upon their own strengths to meet their goals.

The kinds of issues that I have worked with my clients are many. They include anxiety, depression, grief & loss, anger management, crisis, identity, severe mental illness, suicidal ideation, relationship struggles, and many more. I have worked in community mental health settings and in high schools, and I have a particular specialty in telephone crisis counseling.

I look forward to meeting you and working together!

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
