Sarah's is wonderful. I feel very supported and her way of communicating is exactly what I need. I can't recommend her highly enough.

From very early on Sarah understood my issues (even though I didn't understand myself) she's constantly encouraging me to challenge myself and rationalise my thoughts. She's got a caring, nurturing nature but also calls me out for things that I'm hard on myself about. She's the right balance for what I need and I feel fortunate to find a therapist that fits my needs straight away.

More about Sarah

With over 25 years working in the mental health field across various settings and 5 years experience as a Psychotherapist, I am a competent and effective professional who is committed and dedicated to enabling clients to move towards their ideal selves; essentially becoming who you were always meant to be.

As a humanistic, relational therapist, I will achieve this through exploration of all parts of a person, even those we would prefer to disown, through the collaborative partnership we create together.

As no two people are alike, my approach with every person will be tailored to their needs. This might mean using elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (eg; working with Negative Automatic Thoughts or life-limiting core beliefs), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (working with Distress Tolerance and managing emotional regulation) , Transactional Analysis ( working with the Child part of ourselves or how critical parenting has affected us) or Compassion Focussed Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy (how our past is still shaping our present) This is achieved through my particilar approach which is attentive, comforting, insightful, proactive and compassionate.

I am comfortable and confident working along side diagnoses, particularly Autistic Spectrum Disorder, EUPD, intrusive thoughts and OCD, as well as anxiety, and low mood. Nonetheless, I don't believe people are 'disordered' and work from the premise of ' What happened to you?' rather than 'What's wrong with you?'

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
