More about Deborah

  • 41 years' experience
  • Female
  • LPC-MHSP

I am licensed in Tennessee with 41 years of professional experience in a variety of work settings which required expertise in order to help others learn anxiety and stress management, conflict resolution, interpersonal effectiveness, feelings management, communication skills, decision making, goal setting processes, time management, assertiveness, and leadership skills. Regarding adults I specialize in women's issues.

I have found that managing change (as in the transitions involved in career searches, new relationships, losses, aging, “empty nest”, etc.) are challenging and often involve learning new coping/effectiveness skills. I am a Certified Tele-Mental Health Provider in regard to virtual counseling and have found Telehealth can be very effective.

Sessions are generally scheduled starting at 9am CST (10 am EST) with the last appointment at 6pm EST (5pm CST) on Tuesdays and Thursday with Saturday morning appointments available. There may be openings at the same hours on other weekdays arranged upon request. Messaging on your page is checked at least every other day and worksheets plus other Better Health resources are utilized as well as other articles as needed.

Therapy is adapted to your needs and preferences-there are many strategies available and we need to find what works best for you. I look forward to going with you on your journey toward health and working on your goals! I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
