More about York
- 8 years' experience

- LPCC, LPC
I am an LPCC licensed therapist in the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin, and I have about 8 years experience in the mental health field. I have worked with clients of all ages with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, trauma, and OCD.
I see the process of therapy as a joint effort between client and therapist and all treatment interventions are chose based on the client's individual needs and interests. My specialized training and experience is primarily in trauma therapy. I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and I'm adept at EMDR treatment for PTSD, anxiety, and phobias. Additionally, I am a certified Anger Management Therapist and have extensive experience treating clients with emotional dysregulation issues.
In my free time, I like to spend my time with my wife and playing with my two cats. My hobbies include hiking, bowling, reading books, playing video games, and I am an avid chess player.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Very good
York has been very good for me, listens to me and my concerns, is very calm and very helpful. I appreciate all his support and advice.
York is a compassion and understanding person. He helps me understand myself and my motivations.
Easy to work with, understanding
Grateful for the perspective and tools that York has shared with me, and feeling very positive about my progress in coping with trauma-related responses and triggers. Looking forward to more progress as we continue on.
Having someone to talk with that reflects back support and positivity is such a fantastically uplifting experience. York both pushes me to achieve goals and talks with me like we're old friends. I've had a hard time finding a therapist that 'gets' me and I feel York does and I am so appreciative!
York was great at listening (I like to talk a lot!). He helped me to see underlying causes of what I've been going through that I wasn't able to identify on my own. He gave simple and manageable goals that were mutually agreed upon. He was great at providing another perspective without judgement and I made great strides in a short time because of it.
He gives me great feedback.
York makes therapy enjoyable! He is more like a great listening friend than a therapist. Sometimes we work on certain things, and other times he just let's me blab about my life, and has excellent feedback. I appreciate him!
York is very fluid in the way he shapes the treatment he thinks would be beneficial. He’s attentive and really pulls out details of my life and figures out creative ways to think of new solutions. He’s also very kind and gracious in the ideas that he helps me discover that I’ve known all along. Couldn’t be happier, super grateful for the connection having been made through BetterHelp.
York is an expert in his field and I owe him a debt of gratitude for his great work. I appreciate him.
So far my experience has been great with York, I feel like he really actively listens, which is a big thing for me. He also has a lot of great suggestions and he’s very relatable. I truly like his approach to navigating my own therapy needs, and also sticking to his areas of expertise.
York is very personable, patient, and real, like talking with a dear friend over coffee. He makes me feel comfortable and welcomed in order to discuss difficult topics. He is so caring and compassionate to my situation while offering sound advice and techniques to work through these issues. Highly recommended!
I highly recommend York, he is very professional & try his best to understand the cases I brought up in my sessions. Appreciate his efforts!
