Amanda shows empathy, understanding and can gently challenge my surface emotions. I feel she has a good sense of my process and this reflects during my session when she summarises back to me. It is important for me to feel heard and understood and I feel this is what I receive from Amanda.

It takes courage to seek out support when things do not feel right.

My name is Amanda and I am a qualified counsellor, registered with the BACP.

I work in a relational way and believe in the power of our therapeutic relationship

I am passionate about the work I do, I am committed to offering you a space that meets your needs. A space of warmth, empathy and no judgement, where your voice can be heard.

My hope is that we build an honest and open therapeutic relationship where we can we work together to meet your personal goals.

Therapy can mean different things to different people, and whether you need to be heard, to assist you in making changes or to unpack past experiences, I will work at a pace that feels right for you and hold regular reviews ensure your needs are being met.

My person-centred training, underpins my approach, this means I hold the belief that you are the expert of you, and will help you to come to an understanding of your concerns that feels true to you.

However, I appreciate one size does not fit all and I draw on elements other approaches as part of my work.

My experience includes me working with trauma and this includes victims of domestic abuse, stalking and coercive control. I have worked with various mental health diagnosis and those who have had alcohol and drug dependency, work concerns and those wanting to explore their faith.

I have a special interest in dis-enfranchised grief, working with those whose loss is often not validated by society.

Ultimately, I am here to support you on your journey and walk with you in taking these important steps towards change.

I look forward to meeting you.

After a few false starts with other therapists over the last several years I am so glad to have found Amanda and have sincerely enjoyed speaking with her over the last two months. I appreciate her kindness, patience and thoughtfulness. I used to feel nervous before my appointments and now I feel excited in the lead up to our sessions to continue our work together. I would highly recommend Amanda
