I am a UK counsellor with 12 years' experience. I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I trained as a person-centred counsellor and still use that paradigm as the anchor for the work I do with clients. I do however recognise that everyone's circumstances are unique and that therefore, one size does not fit all. As a consequence I use a more integrative approach to get the best result for each individual. I have extensive experience of dealing with alcohol dependency as well as addictions to gambling, drugs or sex. I am LGBTQ+ friendly and am Kink and alternative lifestyle/non-traditional relationship aware. I have worked with many other issues including stress and anxiety, motivation, self-esteem and confidence, career coaching, depression, personality disorders, sexual abuse and coping with life changes.

My view of the therapeutic process is that, given a safe, supportive and confidential environment in which they are listened to and heard free of any judgement, clients will be able safely to explore feelings and thoughts and bring about change that is beneficial for them.

I am not a "nodding donkey" counsellor; I do not just sit and empathise nor merely reflect back what a client tells me. Whilst always remembering that the only true expert about you is you, I will work with you to address the issues you want to work on by gently challenging your perceptions and encouraging you to explore alternative approaches. I will do this at your pace, never being directive nor giving advice and at all times will ensure you are kept safe and supported.

I understand that taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
