Hi, I am Corinna Evans, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Colorado and National Certified Counselor (NCC). I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from University of Colorado Colorado Springs and my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling from Adams State University.
I have spent the last eight years working with children and adolescents in an inpatient psychiatric hospital. I also have four years of experience as a School Counselor at both the elementary and high school level. In addition, I have completed the facilitator training for Positive Solutions for Families. Therefore, I also have extensive experience working with parents to help alleviate challenging behaviors with their children and increase positive, evidence based parenting strategies.
In telehealth counseling I am passionate about continuing to work with children, adolescents, and their parents. In addition, I am also eager to do individual counseling with adult clients as well as couples counseling. I have training in Prepare Enrich, a premarital counseling program.
I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. The only person that can truly make that happen is you. As therapists, we are here to help guide you but ultimately it’s your journey. The first step is taking “a step”. Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
