Hello, I'm Matt Dix. I'm an integrative counsellor and coach based in Staffordshire in the West Midlands. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, lgbt-related issues, coping with grief and loss, & motivation, self esteem, and confidence. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment.
Perhaps you feel pressured to live up to the expectations of others, or you are tired of putting yourself down, feeling inferior and not able to live the life you really want. If you would appreciate discovering how to be your “real self” without the need to pretend to be someone you are not, whilst learning to like and respect yourself, then counselling can help.
Counselling can help you grow your self-awareness and see your thoughts from a different perspective. There is huge potential for you to move forward in your life by talking to a qualified counsellor who is non-judgemental, genuinely cares and respects you as an individual.
My coaching and counselling approach is Person-Centred and I also draw on elements of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Mindfulness. My professional qualifications include the Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, Professional Coaching and Mentoring and Writing for Therapeutic Purposes. I’m trained in the use of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator ® (MBTI) and a Master Practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). I’m a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Reg. MBACP).
I offer sessions via video, audio/phone, live chat or messaging and you will find my available appointment times in the calendar.
I will usually respond to messages within 24 hours but if you message me after 4pm on a Friday, over the weekend, or on a UK bank holiday, it's likely that I'll be taking a break from work, and probably won't reply until Monday – or Tuesday if the Monday in question is a bank holiday.
Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
