Hello, My name is Barry Parker. I am licensed in Indiana with 27 years of professional work experience. I have seen it all, during my years, not much surprises me. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, relationship issues, family conflicts, & coping with grief and loss. I have worked with children as young as 5, teenagers (who often are not that accepting to therapy) and to adults as old as 107. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. My role to refine, define and develop existing and new tools in your tool bag to take on life. You are taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life, which takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

I believe one of the key elements of therapeutic bond. Due to personal trauma, I am not a good fit for the LGBT+ community.

I do not take cases with active court involvement, Child abuse with DFC involvement.

I am a animal lover, have 3 dogs and 4 cats, not to mention chickens and rabbits. I am easy going and do not use a lot of Therapy Speak, I tend to talk with my clients as I would with anybody else. Using my skills to connect the dots of what's going on in your life, to make sense of it, the best I can.

Hope to see you soon,

I'll leave the light on.

Barry

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Barry is genuine and really listens. We’ve only just started our journey so I’m only speaking from the few sessions we’ve had so far but I really think he’s trying to get to know the inner me. The person that not everyone else gets to see. I like his feedback and he feels like a safe place for me to confide.

Barry is a please to sit and have a chat with every week. For me, it's great to just be able to have a chat about what I'm going through, day-to-day, with someone who doesn't come into the conversation loaded with knowledge about me and who isn't going to judge anything that I bring to the session.
