More about Deborah

  • 22 years' experience

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 22 years experience and graduated with Honors. I have experience working with clients with concerns of depression, anxiety/stress, grief and loss, relationship issues, and women’s issues. I may use at anytime during a session any of the following interventions; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Client Centered Therapy, and Stress Management.

Oftentimes, the origin of our individual emotional struggles are not always apparent to us. We can become alarmed when these struggles begin to impact on our day to day living and relationships. It is then that clients most often begin to reach out for therapy to gain further insight into their thoughts, actions, and feelings. Distorted thinking patterns can fuel low self esteem and affect every area in a persons life. A once used defense mechanism may no longer be useful or beneficial to your mental health and once identified can be discussed in therapy and clients can learn more adaptive ways of coping.

I will do my part to provide a relaxed, compassionate, and validating environment for you to explore your life situation.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
