Life is not always easy, it can bring its fair share of storms, leaving us to seek out a safe place to shelter as we weather those intense and challenging times.
You might be at a crossroads in your life, feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or maybe something has happened to you recently, such as a bereavement, the end of a relationship, a traumatic experience - or perhaps things have happened to you in the past that you are still struggling to come to terms with.
My aim is to be that warm and safe shelter, providing a confidential space where together, we can explore these experiences, and how you feel about them. My aim is to listen with empathy and respect, and without judgement.
My role is not to advise, or to tell you what to do, but rather to support you as you look at some of the difficulties you have been facing, giving you the time and the space to understand what you have been through, to think about what is important to you, and to figure out what you want for your future.
A big part of counselling is finding the right counsellor that you feel comfortable to work with and if we decide that we are a good fit, together we will build the foundations, creating the ‘shelter’ in which we will work, it will be our regular place to meet and your safe space to be heard.
I am an integrative counsellor, meaning I put together different styles of working that would best suit your needs. We are all unique and the same size does not fit all, so it is important that in counselling as well, the modalities and techniques used should be specific to you as an individual person.
My background is in general and mental health nursing, so especially understand the pressures and strains on those working in the health care and medical field. I am a qualified and fully insured counsellor and a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). However, beyond my qualifications and experience, I believe that it is the relationship that we create between us that is imperative to the work we do together.
As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I am committed to the highest professional, moral, and ethical standards in my work

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Overall rating:
Kate really tailored the therapy to suit me. She is a great listener and gave really sound tips and advice that really helped improve my outlook on life. I highly recommend her as a therapist.
I am so happy to work with Kate, she is professional and understands my needs.
The sessions with Kate are extremely insightful and helping a lot. She always understands my issues and feelings and adjusts just perfectly. She constantly checks-in with me during the sessions in order to make sure we are on the same page. Kate is very understaning and with her I'm condifent that I'll be able to practice more self-love and compassion towards myself creating a strong and real basement for improvement without being to hard on myself. It's a real pleasure talking to her each time an even after a few sessions things feel very managable, which is super motivating. I think Kate is an extremely experienced but also empathetic therapist. Another thing I value is her being so non-judgmental and open. That creates a place of trust and safety. I am really grateful to work with Kate and I can very strongly recommend working with her.
Kate has been brilliant at listening to my experiences and challenges, as well as reassuring me and validating me in my concerns and thoughts. Kate always looks beyond to see what the root cause of the problem is, which I find really helpful as it's difficult to be objective with your own issues.
