Hi! I’m Maris. I’m a therapist based in Illinois and I have a passion for working with women of all ages. I have experience with all kinds of clients, but I have found the most rewarding work to be with those experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, and/or those reconciling histories of trauma. My style is warm, non judgmental, client centered, and, most importantly, collaborative. My initial goal is to build a strong rapport and trust with you! Without a strong foundation to our therapeutic relationship, I don’t believe we can accomplish our treatment goals half as effectively. So, getting to know you, your experiences, and perspective is my top priority.

I have an eclectic approach when it comes to treatment modalities, which means I pull from all of my training and incorporate science-based therapies, like cognitive behavioral techniques, mindfulness strategies, examining attachment patterns, and so on and so forth. Basically, I tailor treatment and sessions to your unique set of concerns and goals, nothing cookie-cutter over here.

If you like the sound of this, please reach out and we can start a conversation. I applaud you for starting this journey towards change—it takes a lot of courage to make the first step, and it hasn’t gone unnoticed. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
