Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Joanne is an amazing therapist! I can not put into words how grateful I am for this experience with her. I had therapy in person before and I can say it can not compare with the way I feel after each session with Joanne. She listens to me, validates my thoughts and doesn't allow me to think that there is something wrong with me. She is involved in our sessions and very friendly. She gives me peace, confidence, hope.

I've had two sessions with Joanne so far and have noticed she listens well and reflects information back, correctly. This makes me feel valued and like I'm getting somewhere. I also appreciate Jo's direct yet careful approach and how she reads the 'situation'. For example, Joanne asked if I was interested in homework. I said yes. Looked at the homework, thought it was silly stuff, yet completed it anyway. It opened my eyes and is helping me to feel better already. Now I see why Joanne assigned me that particular 'silly' homework after all.

Talking about past traumas has always been difficult for me but speaking to Jo has been helpful in my path to healing. She would never push me into discussing the hard things but when I was ready, she was there to listen without judgement. I was able to speak about difficult topics in a safe environment and she was able to help me understand and see things from a different perceptive. She is also very professional and a great listener.
