Sam, in only a couple of sessions, has helped pinpoint triggers and support me with how I can help overcome some of my anxieties and negative thinking. It is incredible just how much better I feel in only a few weeks of support. Thank you!

Thank you for viewing my profile. Choosing the right counsellor is really important but can also be a daunting process. Read on for a little about me to help with your choice.

In counselling I aim to provide a safe space for you to explore your feelings without the fear of judgment or opinion. I will be by your side as you explore feelings whether these are from the past, present or future. I primarily work in a person centred way following your lead on what you want to explore, using various techniques from my integrative training to help us explore in different ways that suit you.

I’m a qualified BACP accredited counsellor MBACP (accred). I qualified in Person Centred counselling back in 2006 & as an Integrative counsellor more recently in 2020.

I have experience of counselling young people of college age & above, people with addiction issues, individuals with mental health issues & people who are exploring their gender identity & possible transition. I also have a lot of experience supporting LGBTQ+ individuals. I currently volunteer for a charity who supports transgender people, their families and close friends. In addition I have a small private counselling service. I also work for a supported employment service who supports individuals with various barriers to find & retain employment.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
