Hello! My name is Takesha and I earned my MS.Ed in Counseling from Old Dominion University. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina. I have been a professional counselor for 12 years and worked in a variety of settings with diverse populations. I have worked with adolescents in schools, adults in community settings, and families as an intensive in-home clinician.

Over the years, I have served a wide variety of people and enjoy motivating others to make positive changes in their journey to personal growth and discovery. I view therapy as a collaborative relationship that focuses on the client. I utilize a humanistic, non-judgemental approach drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused, Person Centered, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy frameworks.

I am passionate about helping others navigate through issues related to anxiety, depression, stress management, life transitions, interpersonal relationships, mindfulness, self compassion, academia, and career to name a few. I welcome the opportunity to offer a safe and comfortable environment for all and am dedicated to supporting the unique experiences of marginalized populations.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
