I would recommend her, she’s the 3rd therapist I’ve had on BetterHelp and she’s the first one to proactively help me. She sends me “worksheets” that are very helpful and after meeting her my mental health has improved so so much. She is very supportive and understanding even to situations I would think sound crazy. I have no complaints.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Shalonda is a supportive and thoughtful partner in my mental health journey. I am relatively new to therapy and have found many benefits to working with a dedicated, skilled professional like Shalonda. She actively listens and helps me reframe my thinking around some of my most critical and challenging experiences. I'm really glad that I took the first step to get assistance from a caring professional.
Shalonda was a great therapist during the time I had been with her. She was kind, respectful and had different point of views that made me see things differently. I enjoy her as my therapist.
Ms. Thornton-Knox is extremely helpful to me as I embark on this journey to improve my mental health.
Ms. Thornton-Knox is a wonderful therapist. She takes the time to understand your needs, displays patience, and cares about your engagement in the process. I highly recommend Ms. Knox as a therapist.
Shalonda is very easy to talk to. She gives practical advice and makes me feel heard and supported. Only wish that she had more hours available! Obviously everyone likes her! Evenings and weekends are a bit difficult for me, but I have discovered that texting her is an option and this helps....as I learn to get help when I need it.
Shalonda is a wonderful woman to speak with who is very patient and willing to work with you consistently

She is simply amazing! I look forward to our sessions.
Shalonda was really helpful to me as I was sorting out issues. She identified pain-points that I could address and gave practical advice for positive steps. She was very relatable and I felt comfortable.
Dr. Thornton-Knox is a great resource and I’m thankful for her and the approach we have been taking to get me back to a healthy mental state. She allows me to ramble, which being alone causes you to throw all thoughts and ideas at once, and helps me focus on underlying issues that I honestly didn’t think were issues to begin with. Highly recommend and I can’t wait to see how much improvements I’ve made over the next year.
At first, I was not sure I was going to like her. I have never worked with someone who uses worksheets, but I have found that I like them. She is very friendly (in a professional way) and easy to talk to. I like that when I am explaining something to her, she will listen and say "ok so this is what I am hearing ..." I like that because I am sure she understands, or it gives me a chance to clear up any confusion. I think we will be very productive together.
