I am an accredited Counsellor based in London, UK. My experience comes from providing direct mental health counselling for adults with a variety of presenting issues, especially in coping with grief and loss, coping with life changes, depression, relationship and family issues.

I approach the therapeutic relationship with an acute sensitivity and respect for multi/cross-cultural factors. Much of my clinical experience includes working with South Asian British families and adults given my firsthand experience navigating generational and cultural differences in my own family (a mixture of immigrants and first and second generation British Asians). Representation for minority groups in the broader world of mental health is still very small, and my own professional goals include creating more intersection between my personal knowledge of eastern cultures and professional experience in providing mental health support.

My experience is varied and across settings, as I have provided individual and some family therapy in the NHS, local health centres, community mental health agencies, local addiction projects, mosques and day treatment facilities.

I believe that we are all products of our closest relationships, our

environment, our family systems, and every moment that leads to the present us. I strive to treat the therapeutic relationship, and you, with compassion, respect, and warmth.

My therapy style and approach draws influence from the Person-Centred and Humanistic approaches as well as structural and emotional freedom systems. A top priority for me is to meet you where you are and calibrate treatment and my approach to what will work best for us as we work together to meet your goals. Whether you are working towards enlightenment and insight or symptom-relief and improved function, my hope is that we can collaboratively work together to achieve it!

It takes a lot of strength and will power to work towards a more fulfilling and happier life.

If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.

I am an accredited Counsellor in the UK with 20 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with all different types of difficulties. I have special interest in coping with grief and loss, depression, & coping with life changes. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.

Education.

I hold a Masters degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy, which I completed in 2007. I have extensive experiences in home visiting counselling for the bereaved, which is what I based my masters research on.

On joining the NHS in 2012, I became a certified Counselling for Depression (CfD) practitioner. More recently, I qualified as an Interpersonal Psychotherapist (IPT) to help clients with mild to moderate depression.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
