I greatly appreciate my sessions with Kathryn. She listens carefully and helps focus on me. I also appreciate how she keeps me focused on what I do for and about myself and not focusing on people around me and distracting the conversations talking about others. I strongly recommend Kathryn.

I am a qualified humanistic person-centred counsellor and registered member of the BACP. (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists). As an individual I am a naturally warm and empathic person who is easy to speak to and committed to working with complete confidentiality, care, compassion and respect.

I have a great deal of experience in helping and supporting people gained through working and volunteering in community based mental health and wellbeing agencies. Before following my passion and studying to be a counsellor I gained a great deal of experience working for more than 10 years in roles where I provided emotional, mental health and wellbeing support to individuals who struggled with life challenges and complexities.

My experience includes working with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship and family issues, bereavement, gender identity, chronic health issues, suicide and self-harm.

My theoretical approach is person centred blended with drawing on influences from other therapies informed through my continued commitment to personal development and training.

My aim as a counsellor is to build a professional therapeutic relationship with you which will form the basis for our work together. It is in that trusting relationship that l will support you to explore and process your problems, experiences, stresses and concerns in the safety of our counselling sessions.

I understand how valuable it can be to have a safe space to share life’s challenges, to feel heard and listened to without feeling judged or pressured.

I feel fortunate to be a counsellor working hard to support you to be able to find solutions, acceptance, closure and gain a clearer understanding of who you really are and what you really want in life. It is through this journey that the sessions can be of most benefit to you enabling you to move on from therapy drawing on the experience to shape your own unique journey ahead.

If you have any queries or questions or wish to start counselling, I'm here to support you.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

I was terrified of being judged and was not very open to the idea of sharing my struggles to a stranger. But I realised that meeting a good therapist meant my thoughts are better articulated and deeper questions are answered. This was life changing
