Nisa immediately understood my problems and made me feel confident I could overcome them. After 3 months with her, I am taking a break from therapy because I feel much better. I have done therapy before and what stood out in Nisa was her empathy towards my problems and the fact that she doesn't rush into conclusions. She also sent me useful articles connected with the topics I was struggling with, making me more conscious of the theory behind the practice. I highly recommend her!

Nisa is great. She truly appreciates and respects a person's way of explaining something. While intially slow to spur thought, she quickly picked up on my hesitance and took the reins, guiding me through a process until it became clear to me how to explain a feeling myself. A great person to work with.

More about Nisa

Hello! I am Nisa.

I am a BACP registered and accredited Psychodynamic Counsellor. I am also an experienced Bereavement Counsellor trained at Cruse Bereavement Care.

In my practice, I have helped clients with a broad range of presenting concerns, anxiety, addictions, depression, bereavement, childhood abuse, shame, anger, low self-esteem, narcissistic injuries, victims of crime, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), eating disorder, body dysmorphia and relational trauma created through family dynamics.

Reaching out for counselling and psychotherapy isn’t easy to do, especially if you haven’t gone to therapy before. Taking that first step is, perhaps the hardest step of all and it takes huge courage to realise that you may need help, and no longer want to suffer and struggle to cope on your own.

At first, speaking to a therapist may feel daunting and you may feel uncertain about what to say or what it is that the therapist can do for you.

Counselling could make the difference between ‘continuing to struggle and suffer in silence’ or ‘developing inner strength and the self-belief’ needed to bring about real change

My Practice:

I am psychodynamic/bereavement practitioner with a background in banking management. My work is driven with compassion and integrity and will sensitively explore your past and present circumstances, to better understand how past events are remembered or relived. I work short-term on specific goal-oriented concerns and also offer long-term therapy.

Finding the right person to confide, is an important part in your healing journey. When you are ready, please contact me on this directory

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Nisa is kind and considerate in her approach to therapy. She makes me feel heard and understood as she listens to my thoughts and worries and helps me to untangle unhelpful thinking patterns and understand where they come from. From taking sessions with her I feel more confident in myself and my abilities to move forward and take positive action in my life.

Nisa was real lovely to me. She was my first therapist ever, by the way. My first session with her, I was feeling despondent about a lot of things ranging from school, to family, to life in general. She listened, asked relevant questions, and seemed genuinely interested in what I had to say. A couple minutes leading up to our first session, I felt so anxious and nervous because as stated earlier, she’s my first therapist. But less than five minutes into my call with her, she put me at ease and I soon felt comfortable. After the first session, I felt so relieved and was left in high spirits. I highly recommend Nisa.

Nisa was so helpful in helping me work through my attachment issues based in a psychodynamic approach, helping me to increase my wellbeing, independence, and self esteem, and reducing the effects of trauma, stress and anxiety, grief, and depression! Her experience with all these emotions and family dynamics was invaluable and my time in therapy was very much life-changing!!!

Nisa has been a great help in validating my feelings, and tying up many loose ends. Over 8 weeks I feel more confident in taking control of my mental well-being and develop some coping mechanisms to help overcome anxiety. Nisa considers cultural habits and feeds that into building a larger picture.

Nisa has been a considerate and professional therapist. Not only she helped me to see a new perspective, she also supported me to validate my emotions. She guided me to allow myself to feel all the feelings, even though we only encountered a short period of time. I trusted her with all my thoughts and beliefs and she has always accepted me as who I am and letting me know that it is okay to have negative feelings l. I truly appreciate Nisa’s help. Thank you Nisa, you have been wonderful and I hope our path cross again in the future.
