More about Marcia

  • 36 years' experience
  • Female
  • LCMHC

I am licensed in Vermont with more than 35 years of professional work experience since earning a Masters in Mental Health (MMH) degree from Johns Hopkins University. I have a great deal of experience in helping clients with depression, stress and anxiety, relationship issues, trauma and abuse, and coping with grief and loss. I am skilled at guiding clients through major life transitions such as career challenges, moving, significant losses, divorce, parenting difficulties. My background is in psychodynamic/developmental theory and solution- focused therapy with additional training in hypnotherapy and EMDR. I help clients better understand the sources of their difficulties and develop effective skills to manage them.

I tailor my approach to therapy to meet each client's individual and unique goals. I treat each person I see with respect, patience and without judgment. Clients often report a reduction in stress or depression in their lives, resulting in increased self-confidence and self- esteem. Committing to therapy can be challenging, as is any change, but the pay off is big! I look forward to working with you!

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
