More about Rebecca

  • 28 years' experience

  • LMFT

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) in Texas with over twenty-eight years of experience helping children, adolescents, and adults. I am a native Texan, horsewoman, and author. I grew up in small towns in Texas and understand well the strengths and challenges of growing up and living under a microscope. For most of my career, I have helped people overcome unspeakable trauma. I believe it takes enormous courage to look at what frightens us or makes us uncomfortable. Growth happens in times of uncertainty when we are slightly outside our comfort zone. If we are too far outside our comfort zone, our survival strategies kick in to protect us, and we cannot grow. All our focus and energy is on keeping us alive and safe in those moments. When we work together, it will be vital for you to communicate what is happening with and inside of you, so our work doesn't push you into the survival zone. It is vital that you feel emotionally safe in your relationship with me, to be who you are, and to say what you need to say. I will listen deeply and respect your values, beliefs, and life experiences. I will support and challenge you to help you make the changes you seek in your life. You have the strength you need to grow and meet those challenges; you just need a little help along the way.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you make the life you want!

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
