Hi! Thanks for stopping by. Just by clicking on my page you have taken the first step toward making change, regardless if I am the right fit for you or not. You are not alone on your journey and help is just a few more clicks away.

My name is Dr. Kimberly Zammitt (please call me Kim). I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and practice in Minnesota. I have twenty+ years of clinical social work practice experience. I say that therapists are like shoes, you need to find the right fit and style of shoes for your needs. Here's just a little bit about me that may help you decide if we might be a good fit~

Background:

In my clinical practice, I combined both Emotionally Focused Therapy techniques and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Techniques. I maintain a culturally responsive, strengths-based approach in my work. I value collaboration and believe that trust and safety is the cornerstone of quality therapy. I have experience working with adults, adolescents, children, families, and couples. I have worked with people from differing cultures and with diverse ideas about parenting, religion, sexuality, gender identity, marriage and love.

Education & Training:

I earned my Master’s of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Southern Mississippi and a PhD in social work from Jackson State University. I have completed advanced training in emotionally focused therapy (EFT) for use with couples and families. I also completed a certification in Traumatic Stress Studies from the Trauma Center at the Justice Resource Institute in Boston, MA and am a Certified Clinical Trauma Profession Level II (CCTP-II): Complex Trauma from the International Association of Trauma Professionals. I have also been trained in Somatic Regulation, Trauma Processing, and Attachment-Building (SMART). In addition, I've completed an advanced clinical fellowship on Infant, Early Childhood and Family Mental Health at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
