What a breath of fresh air, a professional person that speaks openly and freely whilst maintaining concerns at the forefront of her mind. She explores with me at my pace, validates feelings and draws on experiences that shows she can empathise genuinely. I’ve struggled in the past with therapists making me feel worse, and having a condescending tone. Julie is the complete opposite, she has a seemingly magical way of sitting with a feeling and understanding it to work through it with strength. Extremely grateful for her time. In a short period of time I’ve discovered so much more than I thought I would. Thank you Julie.

I've been with Julie for three weeks now and one thing I noticed within five minutes of the first session was how compassionate she is and how relaxed she makes me feel. I look forward to every session, not only for the help it gives me but the way she can listen and provide feedback in a cheerful and composed manner. We're able to laugh and laughter is good. I would highly recommend Julie to anyone and everyone

More about Julie

Hello my name is Julie Narciso, I am a registered therapist based in Essex, but supporting clients all over the uk.

With 16 years of experience, working with a wide range of clients. I offer a friendly, genuine and personable style of therapy.

I have spent many years supporting clients through their difficulties with their mental health. Anxiety, depression, past trauma, grief and relationships, to name a few. I have worked as a couples therapist for Relate, a parents and teachers support therapist in schools and a cancer and bereavement specialist for Macmillan.

My therapy style can be described as interactive and directive. This means listening carefully to the client to assess the issues they bring, asking questions to develop and further my understanding and working together to seek solutions - moving towards making positive changes.

Life is challenging and what we notice is the impact on how we feel. Those feelings often present as over-thinking, avoidance, seeking reassurance, low mood, low motivation, feeling overwhelmed, stressed, sad or angry. Sometimes a sense of loss is felt. Sometimes it is just an uncomfortable feeling and we require support to join the dots to find the underlying issues.

We can explore 'your' reality. Your thoughts, feelings, behaviours and the influence that your friends/family/intimate relationships/childhood/life experiences and/or work systems are having on your current issues. By understanding ourselves, it empowers us to make different and healthier choices, rather than responding from your 'default setting'.

My approach combines a range of therapeutic techniques including Systemic, Psychodynamic, Transactional Analysis, CBT, Solution Focused and Person - Centred, including concepts from Acceptance and Commitment/Compassion Focused therapies. My knowledge and understanding, combined with my expansive training, allows me to tailor the therapy to suit your personal requirements.

In 2014 I set up my own private practice based in Southend-on-Sea where I continue to support clients face to face, via the telephone and video calls. This safe space enables you to express what is going on for you without fear of judgement.

What next?

If you are considering therapy because you realise that you are unable to do this on your own, then please message me. I can answer any questions you have about therapy, appointments and the platform.

I look forward to hearing from you and helping to support you in your onward journey.

Julie

No matter what I think I can bring to a session, Julie always finds a way to make it amazing and productive. I've made our sessions part of my weekly routine, and look forward to the progress to be made with each session.

Only had a few sessions, but so far very much appreciating Julie's approach and understanding. I have a variety of issues, and going in had no idea where to start. By working together, developing a structure to the sessions, focussing on the most pressing issues (or perhaps whatever has bubbled up that morning) - I am seeing improvements and feeling better in myself in a really short time frame. Looking forward to where this goes.
