Genevieve has been a great help and I appreciate her knowledge, experience, and ability to relate to me.

Genevieve really took the time to get to know me. She treated me with so much kindness and respect and helped me get to a better place. When I first started my sessions with Genevieve, I was in a very rough spot, feeling empty, lonely, depressed, and in a constant state of worry. I am very happy (and sad) to say that I just ended my last session with Genevieve. I am happy, because this means she genuinely helped me to become a better version of myself, and listened when I needed her. But, I am also sad, in order for therapy to work, I had to have trust in Genevieve and be vulnerable, she made that so easy, and I consider her a friend. I would 100% recommend Genevieve to anyone seeking help. She is very thoughtful, organized, retains the information your share with her, and always makes her sessions feel like a safe space. Thank you Genevieve and BetterHelp for making my mental health a priority!

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor based in Kentucky where I have accrued experience with in-patient, out-patient, and school-based counseling. I work with individuals of all ages and have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, relationships, family conflicts, depression, ADHD & many other mental health concerns.

My counseling style is open-minded, empathetic and un-biased and I strive to treat every person with respect and understanding. My approach to counseling is centered in Cognitive-Behavioral and Solution-Focused therapies; with the intent to identify individual's thoughts, feelings and behaviors and modify those to reach the desired outcome. It is my belief that as individuals we are shaped by our relationships, experiences, beliefs and interactions; and making positive changes in those areas can greatly impact the outcomes. I value the therapeutic alliance and am dedicated to helping people build the skills they need to meet the challenges of their daily lives.

You are the expert of your own story and have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming whatever challenges you might face. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process and I look forward to working with you!

Education-

I attended Lindsey Wilson College where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Human Services & Counseling (2007) and my Master of Education in Counseling & Human Development (2009). While in attendance I had the opportunity to meet and work with so many talented individuals in the mental health field. They helped teach me and inspired me to be the helping professional that I am today.

Working Together-

I try to respond to messages from clients within 24 hours. My typical schedule for sessions is from 8am through 5pm Monday- Friday however I have some availability in the evenings. I try to be flexible with scheduling to accommodate client's needs/ schedules.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

I look forward to my sessions with Genevieve each week. Her insights are helpful, and whether I'm having a really hard week or a really great week, I feel very supported by the conversations I have with her and/or the worksheets she offers. She's friendly and super sharp. There have been laughs, I've cried, and there have been ah-ha moments. I can't recommend her enough.
