I find talking about my issues difficult but Joanne helps me find a way even if that's just random messages to see how I am if I havnt spoken in a while.

More about Joanne

My own life journey led me to this profession, which I love and on which I place a very high value.  My extensive training was a worthwhile addition to my own personal, as well as professional life and it ensures that I can support you to overcome what is currently overwhelming, or troubling you. We are all shaped by our environment, I certainly was, but we can learn to uncover what is ours, what was transfered to us and what belongs elsewhere.

The most common feedback I get from clients is that they love that I am just an ordinary person and very down to earth. There's no power dynamic to be felt between us, we can move through this, comfortably, together.

Also, as I've had my own life experience, I'm empathetic and genuine and I'll always try to walk in your shoes - by your side.

There are lots of reasons why you may want support and my experience is, getting through the door is the hard nerve-wrecking part and everyone feels the same. But once you've done that, I'll help you feel comfortable and build a relationship with you, so that talking is so much easier. You may then wonder why you didn't do it before! You have to feel ready and there's no pressure, no judgement.

What is it that I do?

I provide professional Humanistic Person-centred / Integrative counselling for adults (including young adults) and also for couples, where we can explore and gain insight into any issues, or troubles and see if we can find a way, together, to make life easier for you.

It's primarily person centred therapy (talking therapy), meaning it is all about you and the therapy tools, knowledge and expertise used, will be unique to you as an individual.

No two people are alike, have the same life story, or feel the same, even if they have experienced the same things in life, nor do they have all the same symptoms, or effects.  Each event in life is experienced differently by each person and therefore can affect them in very different ways. No-one knows how you feel!

The process of therapy will be built on us having a great therapeutic relationship, where you can feel safe to open up and explore things you may not want to say out loud to yourself, or anyone else - without feeling embarrassed, judged, criticised, shamed, or a burden.  Very often we don't share our inner most thoughts and feelings for this reason. This is a safe place for us to explore, unpick, get beneath the layers and find out what it is your body and mind are troubled by.

There's no judgement here, you will be heard and your feelings will be validated. This is all about you. Nor will there be any unsolicited advice.

Therapy is often not easy, especially if your past, or present is currently emotionally painful.  But with support and the willingness to move forward, your journey can lead you to a happier, peaceful, or more content place.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

I've had 4 sessions with Joanne and I'm so pleased that I did. She truly listens to what's being said and helps me to feel understood. Her ability to recall certain things that I've said over the past weeks and help put them into a different perspective is both impressive and very comforting. Thankyou for our time so far Joanne! I highly recommend and appreciate you
