Sometimes it can feel as if we have no one to listen to us, or that our own problems can feel too big or too small to be able to seek help. Quite often others may listen to respond without a real understanding about what is going on for you. Being able to talk to a trained counsellor gives you the opportunity to feel listened to and to be understood. Having trained in both Psychodynamic and Humanistic models, I incorporate both elements of these approaches in my work with clients. In my own private practice, I have also had the privilege in working with clients from the LGBTQ+ community from a range of differing age groups.
I have recently completed a certificate in adoption counselling, so I am able to support all those affected by adoption and special guardianship orders. Therefore, I am able to work therapeutically with birth parents, adoptive parents, adoptees, and others in the family who might have also been affected by issues of adoption. Such issues that have I have a keen interest in working with are attachment patterns/styles, shame, loss and personal identity – be it personal or cultural.
I am warm, empathic, and will offer you the confidential and safe space that you need to explore your issues as you embark on your own personal journey of gaining more understanding about yourself and your own needs. Our first session will enable us to think about how we can work together. It will be an opportunity for you to ask questions about how I work and whether my style of counselling suits you. Within this session, we can explore the main issues that you wish to work on and how therapy can help you in this process.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Speaking with Laura has been the best choice I’ve made. Laura helps you make sense and process past experiences, and understand yourself to move through them , to move forward . Laura thoroughly listens to everything shared , I feel safe speaking and supported by Laura. Thank you.
Laura is quite frankly excellent. I cannot praise her enough for the support I am getting from her. She understands my issues fully and has opened my eyes to lots of things I never have in therapy before. She’s extremely professional, attentive and responsive. Thanks Laura, you are helping hugely.
I've been talking to Laura for 6 months whilst struggling with work related stress and anxiety. She's been kind and caring and has listened to me. Talking to Laura has helped me gain clarity, calmness and the confidence to take the big step to leave my long term job for a new one. She's been a great support and I've looked forward to our conversations each week.

A great helper. Only a couple weeks in but I feel it has helped me tremendously and in ways I didn’t even know.
