I have been a qualified therapist for over 10 years. I work as a humanistic integrative counsellor and previous to this I worked in the field of mental health for over 25 years. I have a wealth of both professional and life experience which all inform the way I work. I have had extensive training and experience in complex trauma resulting from childhood abuse and in more general issues such as depression, anxiety, low self worth, grief, and other related life issues. I believe the key to successful therapy is finding a counsellor who can help you explore and process the issues you bring to therapy, who can help you develop effective coping strategies, and who makes you feel listened to and really understood within a safe, non-judgemental space. If you have issues you are dealing with which are affecting your quality of life, your relationships or your work then seeking help through counselling is probably the best thing you can do for yourself. Marie is patient, compassionate and understanding yet able to challenge displayed behaviour, and she gives you tools to unpack and understand the "why" behind it. She has come into my life at a very turbulent and distressing time, but has helped me more than words can describe by helping me understand and change my mindset. Marie immediately put me at ease. I’d not really had therapy properly before and was in a pretty stressful situation. She put me at ease and it was easy to talk as I felt comfortable and in a safe place.
