Hello and welcome, I’m Amelia.

Therapy can be a confidential, supportive, non-judgmental place to explore feelings and issues. It can help people develop self-acceptance, understanding, relaxation techniques and ways of coping. Counselling can also help people work towards goals, positive change, improved relationships and a reduction of unhelpful habits and behaviours. I am an Integrative Counsellor which means I use a variety of techniques and approaches in my work. I tailor my way of working to meet the needs of the person I am working with. The way we work will also depend on what you would like to achieve through therapy.

Throughout my training I have worked with clients experiencing a broad range of issues including: abuse, anxiety, bereavement & loss, depression, existential issues, health-related issues, work-related stress and low self-esteem. I also work with clients on subjects like personal development, personal growth, improving relationships and spirituality.

I have experience of short-term, long-term and open-ended therapy. You are welcome to bring very specific, solution-focused issues to be worked on in the short-term. At the same time, issues which require exploration over a longer period of time are welcome too.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
